Ramping up for Book 5
Happy New Year, everyone.
First off, thank you. Truly. I’ve been a bit quiet for a while, so seeing the Substack continued support means more than I can easily put into words.
I do owe you all an apology for the lack of updates over the past few months. Life has been busy in ways that don’t always leave room for creative momentum, and I’m getting back into the story later than I originally hoped. That said, things are finally starting to come together in a meaningful way.
I’m excited to officially say that I’m beginning work on the next installment.
Right now, I’m in the outlining phase, locking down structure, arcs, and where this book needs to land. If all goes well, I expect to start writing the first chapter sometime next week or the week after.
I know the big question is timing. As of now, I’m aiming for a June release, with a possibility of May depending on how my pace settles. One thing I’ve learned from previous books is that my earlier week-after-week writing pace wasn’t sustainable long-term for me personally. This time around, I’ll be starting a little slower and adjusting as I go, rather than burning out early.
I’m also still deciding how this book will be released. I haven’t settled on whether I’ll continue posting chapters to Royal Road or Patreon, or if I’ll hold everything and release the full novel once it’s finished. There are pros and cons to each approach, but consistency is the biggest factor in whether I want to post weekly chapters.
The good news is that you won’t be waiting long for another update. I’ll be revealing the title and cover for the next book within the next week or two, so stay tuned for that.
As always, thank you for sticking around, for your patience, and for your support. I’m genuinely excited to get back into this world—and I can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
Catch you in the pages,
P.R. Ramos
